On Saturday 08 Feb Milk Bar will come alive with electrifying guitar solos, soaring melodies, and rock anthems as the Daniel Wiggins Group presents Greasy Kid's Stuff - The Music of Steve Vai. Prepare for a night of breathtaking musicianship and thrilling performances that pay tribute to one of the most influential guitarists of all time, Steve Vai.

Steve Vai has forged a unique path in the world of instrumental rock music. Beginning his career as a transcriber for Frank Zappa, Vai soon became a sought-after virtuoso in his own right, playing with the likes of David Lee Roth and Whitesnake before embarking on a solo career that has since spanned over four decades. His music blends jaw-dropping technical proficiency with lyrical sensitivity, veering from complex progressive compositions to funky rock grooves. Vai’s albums, such as Passion and Warfare and The Ultra Zone, have not only set a new standard for guitar virtuosity but have also carved out new creative possibilities in rock music.

The Daniel Wiggins Group will bring Vai’s incredible compositions to life with a career spanning set that captures the essence of his music, from the melodic finesse of Tender Surrender to the dazzling pyrotechnics of For the Love of God. Featuring guitarist Daniel Wiggins, a Perth-based musician known for his technical brilliance and expressive style, the band is rounded out by Mark Wiggins on bass and Rolf Fox on drums. Together, they deliver a thrilling live performance that captures the spirit and intricacy of Vai’s work while adding their own creative flair.

Opening the night will be Hair Metal Heaven, a band dedicated to reviving the exuberant anthems of the ‘80s. With a setlist featuring classics from Van Halen, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, and more, Hair Metal Heaven will deliver all the high-energy riffs, big hair, and larger-than-life choruses that defined an era.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind show that brings together the finest in rock guitar music and a nostalgic celebration of the golden age of hair metal.
