Fast & Furious 6 (M, 2013) Presented in 35mm Film by The Revival House Perth

Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) is living in exile in Brazil when federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) recruits him for a dangerous mission: stop a rogue Special Forces operative named Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) and his mercenary team who are stealing military technology. In exchange, Hobbs promises to clear Dom's criminal record, allowing him to return home. Dom reunites his crew—including his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster), former cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker), and the formidable Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), miraculously resurrected from the dead. Together, they travel from Brazil to London to Spain, engaging in increasingly spectacular vehicular battles against Shaw's elite team. The mission becomes personal when Dom discovers that Letty, thought dead since the first film, is alive but has lost her memory and now works for Shaw. As the two sides engage in explosive confrontations, Dom must save Letty while stopping Shaw's plans to acquire a dangerous weapon.

Director Justin Lin delivers the franchise's most ambitious entry to date, transforming street racing into international espionage action. The 2013 film features spectacular set pieces—tanks chasing through streets, cars leaping between buildings, high-speed chases that defy physics and logic. Vin Diesel anchors the increasingly absurd narrative with genuine emotional investment in Letty's resurrection, making the spectacle feel grounded in character stakes. Dwayne Johnson's charismatic presence energizes the film, particularly in his antagonistic dynamic with Dom. The ensemble cast brings personality to their characters despite the script's focus on action over development. The film's willingness to embrace its own ridiculous premises—the scale of destruction, the impossible vehicular stunts, the disregard for physics—becomes part of its appeal. Jon Khalajian's cinematography captures the global locations spectacularly. It's blockbuster filmmaking at its most entertaining, celebrating spectacle, family loyalty, and the sheer audacity of increasingly impossible action sequences.
