History short
Originating in 2009 out of the port city of Fremantle, Western Australia, regarded as one of the most isolated cities in the world, DATURA4 can be best described as a ballsy return to full-tilt boogie and hard rocking blues with their own original spin on things. Fronted by Dom Mariani of legendary Oz garage rockers The Stems, they have released five impressive albums ‘Demon Blues’ (2015), Hairy Mountain (2016), Blessed is the Boogie (2019) and West Coast Highway Cosmic (2020) and Neanderthal Jam (2022) to define the DATURA4 sound on US label AliveNatural Records. All five albums have been received enthusiastically by fans and the music press alike They have received widespread acclaim with features in Classic Rock Magazine (UK) Rolling Stone, Rhythms Magazine (Aust), Blow Up (Italy), Ruta66 (Spain) Fireworks Magazine, Viva Le Rock and Shindig Magazine (UK) just to name a few. Since their inception DATURA4 have established an impressive live reputation touring Europe in 2019. They have also had the honour of opening up for the legendary ZZ Top, Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul, The Cruel Sea, The Pretty Things, The Dictators, The Hoodoo Gurus, New Zealand guitar legend Kevin Borich, Earthless, Endless Boogie, The Godfathers, Tumbleweed, X and You Am I.
The FLOORS
The Floors are a reckless wall of Bass fuzz fury, face-pummeling Drums, crazed Electric Guitar noise, all washing over Luke Dux’s guttural howl. But it’s not just this sonic bombardment that gives The Floors their power. For all of the volume and fuzz, The Floors are merely amplifying the original and most primal spirit of the blues... its heaviness. These three crazed West Australians have supported Kim Salmon, Buzzcocks, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, King Khan & BBQ Show and X to name a few. Featuring Brothers Luke (Vocals/Guitar) and Ryan (Bass) and Ash Doodkorte (Drums). Luke and Ryan took home West Australian Music Industry Awards for Best Guitarist and Best Bassist respectively in both 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2014. And the band was awarded the WAM award for Best Blues Act 2014. They have released ‘Live at the Bird’ 2011, ‘Deadbeat’ 2012, Bones 7” 2013 and ‘Beat it Down’ 2017 out thru Brittany Label BEAST Records. The band have done many tours throughout Australia and after their first successful European tour in 2017 they have been invited back to play 2018’s ‘Binic Blues Festival’.
