Local legend Carus Thompson is heading of to Europe and the UK for January, so he’s playing his favourite Freo venue, Clancy’s before he goes. He wowed the crowd at the sold out Fremantle Folk Festival in November, so he’s stoked to come back and play a longer 2 set show, and get the chance to share more of his songs.

The globe trotting troubadour has toured the world alongside The John Butler TrioThe WaifsXavier RuddJack Johnson & Pete Murray, selling over 30,000 albums along the way. After 8 studio and 2 double live albums, and 25 years of hitting the road he’s built a loyal fan base, always delivering passionate, energetic, folk-rocking shows that entertain and engage.

He’s won a WAM Song of The Year, been a finalist in the highly respected International Song Writing Competition and is a favourite of local folk festivals like Fairbridge, Nannup and Bridgetown. His passionate and genuine pub-rock approach to performance, sets him apart from the majority of singer-songwriters. A Carus Thompson show will always be a journey through quiet ballads, to all out rockers, to some dance-floor fillers, all delivered with his unpretentious, crowd-inclusive energy.

Carus is currently recording his 9th studio album with one of W.A’s most lauded musicians -  Nathan Gaunt. Nathan produced Carus’ last release – the critically acclaimed “Neon Folk” so expect to some of the new material. Don’t miss this special night of home grown, high quality, acoustic singer-songwriter music.

Other local legend Dave Johnson will join Carus for some tunes on Mandolin too.

This is what the press have to say about Carus:

“This is quality Songwriting” – Jeff Jenkins, Living in the Land of OZ
