“The Secret World of Arrietty” is an enchanting animated film directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi. Based on Mary Norton’s beloved novel “The Borrowers,” the story revolves around a family of miniature people who live secretly within the walls and floors of a suburban home. At the heart of the narrative is Arrietty, a spirited young Borrower who yearns for adventure and a glimpse of the world beyond her sheltered existence. When she encounters Sho, a human boy who is recovering from illness, their friendship blossoms despite the risks posed by their vastly different sizes and worlds.
