Join Drew Goddard as he takes you behind the scenes of Karnivool's creative process. In this masterclass, Drew unpacks the evolution of one of the tracks from Karnivool's latest album, IN VERSES

Discover how the song developed over time, exploring the evolution of the guitar riffs and other instrumental elements. Drew will share never-before-heard demos, working session files and stems, revealing how ideas were developed, refined and transformed over the course of more than a decade.

Whether you're a guitarist, songwriter, producer, or simply curious about the creative process, this masterclass will demystify how songs are made and inspire new approaches to your own music.

Drew Goddard has spent over 25 years in the music industry, working across multiple roles but best known as guitarist, songwriter, and co-producer for Perth progressive rock band Karnivool. The band’s fourth album In Verses debuted to widespread acclaim, earning their second #1 on the ARIA charts. Karnivool has toured extensively worldwide, including five tours of India, where they’ve built a particularly strong following. In 2013, their album Asymmetry won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album, alongside a nomination for Best Australian Live Act.

Beyond performing, Drew has worked extensively behind the scenes in live production as a stage manager, technician, and crew member. He is also an experienced producer and engineer, supporting emerging artists in developing their sound.

Through his work with Collaborative Systemic Change and the Barefoot Bands initiative, Drew has focused on mentoring and facilitating music projects in regional and remote communities across Western Australia and the Northern Territory, partnering with organisations such as WAM, NG Media and Wilurarra Creative.

In 2019, he collaborated with Coldplay on “Arabesque” from Everyday Life. More recently, Drew has expanded into film score composition while continuing to tour nationally and internationally with Karnivool.
