Invitations from two of Australia's finest boutique music festivals, the curious sale of an ounce of gold and a benevolent brewery have all got us to this point. Today West Australian songwriter Davey Craddock announces the national tour of his cracking second record One Punch.

Davey writes albums. How twee. His carefully-wrought collections of interlocking songs and characters have seen him lauded by important people who are into that kind of thing. While his debut City West saw Davey chronicle a town growing too fast and busting at the seams, One Punch is a more global record. Boofheaded masculinity, war mongering and surreal world events are all picked apart on songs that swing from dystopic Bad Seedsy rumbles (The Bomb From Broome) to jangly Australian pop (Holiday).

Davey's full band tour includes stops at taste-making Americana festival Out On The Weekend and three day Hunter Valley delight Dashville Skyline, as well as headline pub shows and songwriter haunts right along the east coast.

Rhythms magazine have called One Punch “superb”, Paul Gough of Radio National fame called it “one of the absolute rippers of 2018” while Stuart Coupe, 2SER presenter and former manger of Paul Kelly, has declared it “astonishingly impressive”. Earlier this year, Davey and his band shared the stage with Augie March for two double album launch shows at North Fremantle pleasure palace Mojo’s Bar. Previous supports include Don Walker, Diana Krall, Marlon Williams and The Waifs. *At this point, if you're sick of the promo hussle here's a comedic interlude: Davey's guitarist Luke accidentally bought a towel home from his dressing room at that Diana Krall show - they now lovingly call it Diana Towel.

Oh and about that brewery. Davey’s tour is supported by a generous Tapped Touring grant from brilliant new WA brewer Otherside. To ensure east coast fans and festival goers get to see his full five piece band, Davey also trudged off to the Perth Mint to sell an ounce of gold his grandma gave him for his 21st birthday. How very Wild West. Sorry grandma.
