Ocean's Eleven (M, 2001) 25th Anniversary Presented in 35mm Film by The Revival House Perth

Fresh out of prison, master thief Danny Ocean (George Clooney) immediately sets his sights on an audacious new heist: simultaneously robbing three of Las Vegas's most heavily fortified casinos, all owned by the ruthless Terry Benedict (Andy García), who happens to be dating Danny's ex-wife Tess (Julia Roberts). Assembling a crew of eleven specialists, each bringing their own unique expertise to the operation, Danny orchestrates an elaborate, meticulously choreographed plan to breach Benedict's impenetrable vault during a major boxing match, all while nursing his own complicated motivations involving winning back Tess. As the heist unfolds with countless moving parts and split-second timing, Danny's crew must navigate unexpected complications while maintaining the cool, effortless confidence that defines their profession.

Director Steven Soderbergh delivers a stylish, effortlessly cool heist thriller that reinvigorates the genre through sharp wit, glamorous production values, and an all-star ensemble cast operating in perfect harmony. George Clooney anchors the film with magnetic charisma, while Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and the rest of the eponymous eleven bring distinct personality and comic chemistry to their respective roles within the elaborate heist. Soderbergh's slick, jazz-infused visual style and confident pacing balance the film's intricate plotting with genuine star-power charisma, never letting the heist's mechanics overshadow the ensemble's easy chemistry. Blending genre sophistication with irresistible glamour, Ocean's Eleven revitalised the heist film for a new generation, launching a beloved trilogy built entirely on style, wit, and effortless cool.
