MATT CAL – LIVE FROM THE FRONT BAR AT THE BANKSIA TAVERN

We're stoked to welcome one of WA's finest blues musicians - Matt Cal to the Banksia front bar for an intimate Sunday afternoon of homegrown West Australian roots, blues and folk.

Hailing from Kalamunda, Matt is an engaging songwriter whose music blends acoustic guitar, dobro, slide guitar and stomp with thoughtful, earthy lyrics and melodies. His laid-back style draws on the great songwriters of the ages while carving out a sound that's distinctly his own.

It's been a huge 12 months for Matt, with the release of his sixth EP, Magic Potion, appearances at Nannup Music Festival, support slots alongside Ash Grunwald and Tijuana Cartel, plus a string of sold-out and touring shows across WA.

Joining Matt for the afternoon will be local Busselton blues-man Bear McGrath, firing up the afternoon with a healthy dose of down-beat blues and six-string goodness.
