Blank Instrument - Album Launch
Clancy's Fish Pub | Fremantle (Fremantle, WA)

Join indie folk singer-songwriter Kim Franklin aka Blank Instrument and friends for a special evening celebrating the launch of her debut album Jumping at Ghosts.
After releasing her first two EPs, So Far (2020) and My Piano Sounds Okay (2022), Kim joined the I Heart Songwriting Club in 2023, committing to writing a song a week for 10 weeks. The songs that emerged explore love, heartbreak, grief, and mental health. Moving between heartfelt piano ballads, country-infused guitar tunes, and bluesy rock, the album highlights Kim’s unique voice and lyrical honesty.
The recording of Jumping at Ghosts was made possible through a generous gift, left by Kim’s dear friend Julie when she passed away at the end of 2023. Recording began at Sundown Studios in June 2024 with producer Elliot Smith and features performances from local musicians Lee Jones, Luke Dux and Emily Barker. For this launch, Kim has assembled a new band to perform the album – a rare chance to experience these songs live, with full instrumentation.
Supported by the wonderful Midnight Francine, we welcome you to celebrate with us, to hear the stories behind the songs and be a part of our cosy club.
