The Delta Force at The Revival House Perth

When a Boeing 707 carrying American passengers is hijacked by Lebanese terrorists and forced to land in Beirut, the situation escalates into an international crisis. The terrorists, led by the ruthless Abdul (Robert Forster), separate Jewish passengers from the others and begin executing hostages to pressure the U.S. government. Enter the elite Delta Force, commanded by Colonel Nick Alexander (Lee Marvin) and his ace operative Major Scott McCoy (Chuck Norris). After a tense standoff where hostages are scattered across Beirut, the Delta Force launches a daring rescue mission, infiltrating Lebanon to recover the captives. McCoy, riding a motorcycle armed with rockets, leads the assault through streets and strongholds in a no-holds-barred operation to bring every American home. What follows is an explosive demonstration of military precision, hand-to-hand combat, and America's refusal to negotiate with terrorists.

Director Menahem Golan delivers pure 1980s action wish-fulfillment, transforming the real-life TWA Flight 847 hijacking into a Cannon Films spectacular where American heroes get to rewrite a tragic outcome. The 1986 film is unapologetically jingoistic, with Chuck Norris delivering his signature roundhouse kicks and stone-faced one-liners while Lee Marvin provides grizzled authority. The film's first half builds genuine tension during the hijacking sequences, with strong performances from the hostages including Martin Balsam, Joey Bishop, and Shelley Winters. Once Delta Force deploys, it becomes a showcase for explosions, motorcycle stunts, and Norris dispatching bad guys with extreme prejudice. Alan Silvestri's bombastic score and the film's commitment to over-the-top heroics make it quintessential '80s action. It's propaganda as popcorn entertainment, executed with absolute sincerity.
