LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER (M) Presented in 35mm Film
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider at The Revival House Perth
Aristocratic archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) lives for danger, whether she's bungee-jumping through her ancestral manor or raiding ancient tombs across the globe. When a rare planetary alignment unlocks the key to finding the two halves of the legendary Triangle of Light—an artifact with the power to control time itself—Lara races against the sinister Illuminati sect to reach it first. Her quest takes her from the temples of Cambodia to the frozen wastes of Siberia, following clues left by her late father Lord Richard Croft (Jon Voight), whose mysterious disappearance years earlier may be connected to the Triangle. With only days before the alignment completes, Lara must solve deadly puzzles, survive treacherous traps, and confront enemies who will stop at nothing to possess ultimate power.
Director Simon West brings the iconic video game heroine to life in this globe-trotting 2001 adventure that established the template for game adaptations. Jolie embodies Lara Croft with athleticism, wit, and unmistakable screen presence, performing many of her own stunts and making the character's blend of intellect and action prowess utterly convincing. The film delivers spectacular set pieces—from a bungee ballet with attacking robots to Lara fighting stone monkeys in a Cambodian temple—while production designer Kirk M. Petruccelli creates exotic locations filled with mechanical wonders and ancient secrets. The supporting cast includes Iain Glen as her rival, Daniel Craig as her tech expert, and real-life father Jon Voight in poignant scenes as Lord Croft.
