Two years after a bitter breakup scattered the team, Fred (Freddie Prinze Jr.), Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Velma (Linda Cardellini), Shaggy (Matthew Lillard), and Scooby-Doo are reluctantly reunited when they're separately invited to investigate strange happenings at Spooky Island, a tropical resort where college spring breakers arrive as carefree party-goers and leave as soulless zombies. As the gang navigates their unresolved tensions and trust issues, they uncover a sinister plot involving ancient demons, possessed tourists, and a mystery that will test whether their friendship can survive—and whether they can save the world in the process.

Director Raja Gosnell balances nostalgic reverence for the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon with cheeky self-awareness and genuine heart. Matthew Lillard's pitch-perfect embodiment of Shaggy steals every scene alongside a remarkably expressive CGI Scooby-Doo, while the film playfully subverts the formula fans know by heart—yes, Fred really does love his ascot, and someone finally questions why the gang always splits up.
