The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen at The Revival House Perth

In an alternate 1899, the British Empire faces its greatest threat when a mysterious villain known as "The Fantom" pushes the world toward war with advanced weaponry that shouldn't exist. To counter this danger, adventurer Allan Quatermain (Sean Connery) is recruited to lead an unusual task force: a league comprised of literature's most famous characters brought to life. Captain Nemo commands his legendary Nautilus submarine, Mina Harker conceals her vampiric nature, the invisible Rodney Skinner provides covert expertise, Dorian Gray hides his immortal secret, Dr. Jekyll struggles to control his monstrous alter ego Mr. Hyde, and marksman Tom Sawyer represents America's frontier spirit. Together, this unlikely alliance must stop The Fantom's plot before civilization tears itself apart.

Director Stephen Norrington brings Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill's celebrated graphic novel to the screen with lavish Victorian production design and ambitious special effects that blend steam-powered technology with supernatural abilities. Connery commands the screen in what would become his final film role, bringing gravitas and world-weariness to the aging Quatermain. The film's steampunk aesthetic—all brass, leather, and ornate machinery—creates a unique visual playground where vampires, immortals, and literary icons collide. While it takes liberties with Moore's source material, the adventure delivers spectacular action sequences including a Venice car chase in an era before automobiles were common and the Nautilus navigating the canals of the floating city.
