GKM & SWURV / EN:VY
Good Karma Music & SWURV presents Jean Singer (a.k.a. EN:VY) is an Austrian-born drum & bass producer and DJ based in Bristol, U.K. Born in Vienna in 1999, Jean started DJing at just 13 while balancing competitive ice hockey before fully immersing himself in music production around 2016. Inspired by the likes of Alix Perez, Calibre, Bredren, and Skeptical, he pursued formal training at BIMM Institute in Bristol, quickly sharpening a sound centred on precision, dark minimalism, and melodic weight. EN:VY first appeared on labels such as Overview Music and Flexout Audio, gaining attention with the Push Through EP. His breakout came with a release on Critical Music’s Binary Vol. 24 series, notably with the track “Airplane Mode,” which cemented his reputation inside the label’s emerging artist roster. Since then he has become a Critical Music stalwart-dropping the Banned EP in May 2024, featuring collabs like the funk‑infused “INLOVE” with Monty as well as collaborations with vocalist DRS on Javeon’s “Passenger". In early 2025, EN:VY continued his momentum with the five‑track Silver Riff EP, whose title track and “Damaio” flex his range from high‑energy bass rollers to atmospheric, dub‑influenced sound design. Known for his meticulous drum programming, gritty sub‑bass design, and a sound that bridges liquid, jump‑up, and darker dancefloor edges, EN:VY remains one of drum & bass’s most exciting rising stars-bringing crisp technical prowess and emotional resonance to every release. |
