Spaceboy is the solo music project of Perth/Boorloo musician Roy Shean.
Fusing the improvisational spirit and harmonic complexities of jazz with the sounds and rhythms of contemporary R&B and EDM, drawing inspiration from artists such as Snarky Puppy and Robert Glasper, Spaceboy is an experimental approach to music creation but one in which creating deep evocative melodies remains the highest virtue. With this ethos, Spaceboy also draws from the melodicism of classical music and classical guitar techniques.
Spaceboy’s debut show will feature original compositions and covers of Daft Punk, 2Pac, and more, performed by some of Perth’s most exciting young musicians.

Roy Shean is a composer/guitarist based in Perth/Boorloo regarded for his proficiency in multiple musical genres. Holding an Associate in Music, Australia qualification in classical guitar from the Australian Music Examinations Board and a Bachelor of Music from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts majoring in jazz performance, he has honed a deep understanding of both genres. Roy has experience performing as a sideman for various jazz and R&B ensembles including Theme Town, Swingin’ at the Savoy, and Kuda’s Collective, among others.
