Worse than ever, Bad Neighbour returns to the Bird with their signature brand of phenomenal original jazz. This surprise spot will have all the hallmarks of their usual terrible tenancy, amplified by the group recording a debut album this very week! Expect instrumental dexterity and prowess weaving through magnificently sculpted tunes. Josh Parker Quintet is an ensemble of dynamic young jazz musicians who will present new and exciting music, much of which will be featured on the group's upcoming album to be released in June. Parker will be joined by pianist Flavio Colonetti, guitarist Chris Kazuki, bassist Finn McKibbin and drummer Callum Thomson.
Maltese born composer, improviser, vocalist, and interdisciplinary artist Sarah Marie (NYC) is a fresh face in Perth, bringing inspirations and experiences from across the globe. Sarah Marie presents a collection of arrangements and original compositions portraying her artistic identity as a woman of the world through a blend of jazz and world-fusion sounds, stretching beyond stylistic barriers and storytelling with words. She will be joined by home-grown talents Kieran Barnes, Dan Harrison, and Bob Tweedie.
