VIPERCHAIN launch brand new single "Drained" on Saturday 12 October at Old Habits with support from Black Kanyon, Scatterback & Reptile.
Perth's up-and-coming modern rock outfit VIPERCHAIN have made a name for themselves with their high-energy performances, influenced by Bring Me The Horizon, Silverchair and Beartooth.
Written/produced/mixed/mastered at abode Burke, "Drained" is a hard-hitting rock anthem packed with thunderous drums, enormous riffs & snarling vocals. Inspired by the likes of Alter Bridge, Metallica, Black Label Society & Avenged Sevenfold, Viperchain has crafted a sound that's both powerful & captivating.
"Drained" explores themes of betrayal, emotional exhaustion, and strained relationships. The protagonist expresses feelings of having their energy and emotions drained by someone who consistently chooses self-defeating or harmful actions ("Heaven’s falling at your feet, but still you run right to defeat"). The "tying bond" could be interpreted as a close connection or relationship that has become severely strained, due to the other person’s destructive behaviour and unwillingness to change.
