Join Megan for her final performance as a WAAPA student at her graduation recital.
After five years of honing her craft at WAAPA, this recital represents the culmination of her artistic journey as well as six months of dedication from her and her incredible band. Titled Business as Usual, Megan's project delves into her reflections on the uncertainty of what lies ahead in both her career and life.
Through music, Megan will explore profound themes such as the tension between art and money, and whether creativity can retain its joy and freedom when it becomes work. Expect a thought-provoking, immersive evening as Megan performs both original compositions and covers of legendary artists, from Jill Scott to Yebba to Dolly Parton and many more. Don’t miss this unforgettable night of artistry and introspection.
Sami Kirubakaran - 8:05pm
Join Sami K for a soulful evening at her WAAPA Graduation Recital, featuring original compositions and arrangements from some of her most beloved artists. Sami first discovered her love for music growing up singing in church. Experiencing the deep joy music could bring to herself and others, she began to work hard refining her craft.
Her recital will demonstrate her artistry and the discovery of her musical identity. You can expect to hear the influences of Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Corinne Bailey Rae, among others. Joining Sami on stage is an incredible lineup of musicians including Christian Passalacqua, Josh Fairweather, Dion Fernandes, Jasper Lambert, Maze Mather, Olivia George, Aimee Croston and more.
Gabrielle Vrzovski - 9:10pm
Join Gabrielle at the Rosemount Hotel for an unforgettable evening as she takes the stage for her WAAPA Graduation Recital. With a voice both powerful and vulnerable, Gabrielle invites you on a heartfelt journey, one that delves deep into the emotional landscapes we all navigate when life’s path seems misaligned with our true selves.
Drawing inspiration from pop and RnB greats like Beyoncé, Sam Smith, Adele and Olivia Dean, Gabrielle’s performance is a celebration of love, liberty, and the courage to live authentically. Her vocals, commanding yet tender, will stir the soul, reminding us of the importance of bravery in expressing who we truly are.
