Hot US R&B meets Jamaican ska & rocksteady!
In the early 1950s, hot rhythm & blues took the US by storm but it was also the music of choice on Jamaican sound systems of the day. The mix of swing, jump blues and New Orleans sounds was perfect for dancing to and in the early 60s, Jamaica musicians turned it into upbeat ska and cool rocksteady.
Two hot bands bring this infectious music to life… Red’s Tribe’s original Jamaican ska and rocksteady sound and Bang Bang Betty & the H-Bombs’ exciting jump blues and R&B.
