Perth’s rollercoaster riding RHCP tribute SCAR TISSUE get on top to celebrate the 25TH ANNIVERSARY of RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS 1999 classic “CALIFORNICATION” at the ROSEMOUNT HOTEL in PERTH on SATURDAY 15 JUNE, performing the album in full, including the hit singles "Otherside", "Californication" and the Grammy Award winning "Scar Tissue", plus a band-picked selection of RHCP favs!
Joining in on the "CALIFORNICATION" 25TH ANNIVERSARY celebrations will be special guests STACKED ACTORS, performing the best of FOO FIGHTERS and ELAVINA WILLIAMS (Solo)
Californication was released on June 8, 1999. It reached No.3 in the US, and would go on to sell more than 15 million copies worldwide - more, even, than Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
But the album’s real triumph wasn’t its commercial success. Kiedis acknowledged that Californication effectively saved the Chili Peppers (“Until John rejoined, Flea was at the end of his Chili Peppers rope,” said the singer). More importantly, as Frusciante acknowledged, it signified his own return from a journey that was almost destined to end in tragedy.

On “Californication”, all pistons are firing for RHCP—bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith bring the punk-funk, Frusciante goes full Hendrix on the guitar, and frontman Anthony Kiedis is contemplative and emotional, but equally playful, and opens his range and discovers his knack for pop melody.
